These general terms of use ("GTU") govern access to and use of the Ultimate Boating website (the "Service"), published by Sébastien Sauteraud, sole trader (see the legal notice). By accessing the Service, the user accepts these GTU without reservation.

1. Purpose of the service

Ultimate Boating provides the general public with technical comparators (outboard engines, electric motors, propellers, on-board systems), a boat comparator, a boating-project assistance workshop, a map of professionals, as well as news and links to the manufacturers' official documentation. The Service is intended for information and decision-support purposes.

2. Access and free of charge

Access to the Service is open and free of charge for the general public, without the need to create an account. The publisher endeavours to ensure the availability of the Service but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation; it may suspend, interrupt or modify all or part of the Service, in particular for maintenance, without incurring any liability.

3. Nature of the information

The technical characteristics, prices and images presented are provided purely for guidance. They are taken from the documentation and data sheets published by the manufacturers and their official networks, and are subject to change. No price displayed constitutes a firm offer: only the information provided by the manufacturer or its distributor is authoritative.

In particular, the manufacturer's rating plate (CE standard) prevails as regards the maximum permissible power of a hull and the design category. The Service provides no personalised advice (technical, regulatory, commercial or financial): the elements offered, in particular by the project workshop, are no substitute for validation by a boating professional. Ultimate Boating sells no boats, engines or accessories.

4. Comparators and neutrality

The comparator rankings and scores rely exclusively on standardised technical data and on the weightings chosen by the user. They express no value judgement or commercial recommendation regarding the brands cited, which are mentioned solely for information and identification purposes.

5. Affiliate links

Certain pages contain affiliate links. If the user makes a purchase after following one of these links, the publisher may receive a commission, at no extra cost to the user. As an Amazon Associate, the publisher earns from qualifying purchases. These links influence neither the characteristics displayed nor the comparator scores.

6. Intellectual property

All the elements of the Service are protected by intellectual property law, under the conditions set out in the legal notice. Any substantial extraction or re-use of the Service's databases is prohibited without authorisation.

7. Liability

The Service is provided "as is". The publisher cannot be held liable for the consequences of any purchasing, equipment or navigation decision taken on the basis of the Service's indicative information, nor for indirect damage resulting from its use. The user remains solely responsible for verifying the information with the relevant manufacturers, distributors and professionals before making any decision.

8. Personal data

The processing of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. The Service places no tracking cookies.

9. External links

The Service links to third-party websites (manufacturers, professionals, news sources) over which the publisher exercises no control and for whose content it cannot be held liable.

10. Changes to the GTU

The publisher may amend these GTU at any time. The applicable version is the one in force on the date the Service is accessed.

11. Applicable law and disputes

These GTU are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, and failing an amicable resolution, the French courts shall have jurisdiction. In accordance with Articles L611-1 et seq. of the Code de la consommation, the consumer may make free use of a consumer mediator; they may also use the European online dispute resolution platform.
